About the Zagreb – Makarska route
The quickest way is the A1 motorway past Split to the Šestanovac exit, then down the hill to the coast under the Biokovo mountain. The last part of the drive opens up to one of the most spectacular views in Croatia – the long pebble beaches of the riviera with the islands of Brač and Hvar across the water.
The riviera stretches for about 60 km, from Brela in the north to Gradac in the south. Many apartments are on steep streets above the coast road; your driver takes you right to the door and helps with your luggage.
Worth a stop on the way
- Plitvice Lakes – the classic detour on the way south
- Krka Waterfalls – an easy stop near Šibenik
- Split – lunch and a walk through Diocletian’s Palace
- Omiš – canyon of the Cetina river (via the coast road)
Write the stops you would like in the booking form – we plan the route and confirm the final price.
