About Rastoke and Karlovac
Rastoke is a small village in the town of Slunj, where the Slunjčica river splits into dozens of waterfalls and cascades before joining the Korana. Centuries-old water mills, some still working, give the place its fairy-tale look.
Karlovac was founded in 1579 as a star-shaped fortress and sits where four rivers meet — the Korana, Kupa, Mrežnica and Dobra. Its Aquatika aquarium shows the life of Croatian freshwater rivers.
