About Opatija and Rijeka
Opatija became one of the most fashionable seaside resorts of the Austro-Hungarian Empire in the 19th century. Its grand hotels, villas and parks still line the Lungomare, a seaside promenade that runs for about 12 kilometres from Volosko to Lovran.
